They are specifically supporting our new engineering, modern methods of construction and digital centre, utilising their experienced employer stakeholder partners to support future student employment or further Higher Education opportunities. Among these joint pieces of work are aspirations to enhance student employability across the West Midlands region, widen participation in Further and Higher Education and to support regional ‘levelling up’ and key skills priorities.
We are entering into one of the most exciting and ambitious periods of our development and are now seeking to appoint an Executive Dean for the newly formed School of Engineering, Digital and Sustainable Construction. This is a new, exciting and unique position enabling us to expand our curriculum into a new era, creating opportunities with more modern engineering, construction and digital curriculum, from FE level initially but progressing to HE studies via exciting pathways.
Our investment in world class facilities and resources in which our students will study mirror the investment in cutting edge industries across all aspects of the curriculum, students that graduate or progress into industry will do so with the highest level of work-ready skills available to launch them into high value jobs.
Our new Executive Dean will lead a team of professional engineers, construction and digital experts to ensure our students receive an outstanding learning experience. With line management accountability for a new Deputy Dean, and Senior Lecturers, they will deliver sustained academic growth for both Further and Higher Education programmes. The curriculum they will lead on will be innovative and modern, and they will have the skills to identify opportunities in new and emerging markets, working closely with external stakeholders. With a strong emphasis on partnership-working, they will drive enhancements in reputation and, most importantly, student outcomes.
To deliver the above, we are seeking to appoint an exceptional individual who has led a successful business, department or college and can evidence strong leadership, innovation and exposure to modern methods, vision, economic growth whilst maintaining the highest quality assurance in delivery. They will play an active role as a member of the Executive Management Team, which fosters a culture of innovation and high performance across all areas of the institution. The postholder will oversee the successful strategy and operation of the school and lead academic teams to ensure high-quality and engaging teaching whilst also ensuring the School is aligned with the wider University strategies and objectives.
