Hired@UCB provides careers, employability and placement services to our students based upon 6 key themes: GET Started, GET Skilled, GET Experience, GET Hired, GET Enterprising and GET On. We currently have a vacancy for an Employability Tutor (Placements) supporting further education students in the Department of Business (part of the School of Business, Tourism and Creative Industries). 

The role of the Employability Tutor is to support further education students undertaking courses which contain a compulsory work placement to gain valuable work experience and employability skills. Working with students in the Department of Business, you will organise work placements; mentor and visit students whilst on placement; ensure that the appropriate quality systems are in place to support and embed the learning; as well as maintain databases, support with open days and effectively promote the University through a variety of mediums.  

You will develop strong links with UCB Schools and Departments regarding the service as well as engage directly with employers to source and develop partnership and placement opportunities. 

The successful candidate will have relevant careers/employability/placement experience and experience in a client-facing role. You will have excellent communication and organisation skills, the ability to work with a diverse range of clients, and proficiency in administration and the use of IT. In order to be successful in this application, you will possess a minimum level 5 qualification.

Flexibility and a willingness to conduct placement visits on-site as required are essential.
