Hired@UCB provides careers, employability and placement services to our students based upon 6 key themes: GET Started, GET Skilled, GET Experience, GET Hired, GET Enterprising and GET On. We currently have a vacancy for an Employability Tutor (Placements) supporting further education students in the College of Food, with a particular focus on our bakery programmes.

The role of the Employability Tutor is to support further education students undertaking courses which contain a compulsory Industry Placements to gain valuable work experience and employability skills. Working with College of Food students, you will organise the work placements, mentor and visit students whilst on placement, ensure that the appropriate quality systems are in place to support and embed the learning, as well as maintain databases, support with open days and effectively promote the University through a variety of mediums.  You will also develop strong links with UCB Schools and Departments regarding the service, as well as engage directly with employers to source and develop partnership and placement opportunities.

The successful candidate will have relevant industry (bakery) experience, supported by a minimum level 3 qualification in this field, together with experience in a client-facing role and an understanding of pathways into employment. You will have excellent communication and organisation skills, proficiency in administration and the use of IT.

Flexibility and a willingness to conduct placement visits off-site are essential.
