University College Birmingham School of
Engineering, Digital & Sustainable Construction has what can only be
described as a unique opportunity for the right candidate.
From September 2022 UCB will be delivering a
range of level 3 Engineering pathways and HE from 2023 in such fields as
mechatronics, mechanical, manufacturing and electrical electronics, robotics
and AI, to help us meet demand we require four lecturers to join the team at
this really exciting time.
For the right candidates we can offer the
opportunity for a highly motivated self-starter to join us at the outset, have
direct input into supporting the curriculum delivery with curriculum
specialists work with our industry partners to secure work and industry
placements, collate and co-create outstanding curriculum delivery materials, be
the face of UCB engineering, contribute on the student recruitment and
enrolment process, collaborate with colleagues in our digital curriculum area,
ensure our students have the most fantastic student experience that will afford them the greatest life chances and offer a
clear line of sight to degree level outcomes.
You will work with lecturers and senior
lecturers and our project lead to ensure our newly created facilities are at
the centre of the student experience in what can only be described as world
class investment, ensuring that our students are completely work ready and can
springboard into high value careers when they leave us.
Our recent investment of over £2 million pound
in labs and equipment such as hydraulic, pnuematic's, PLC trainers and Industry
4.0 production line, robots, cyber factory alongside state-of-the-art materials
labs and testing equipment and our PC suites with the latest industry software
such as Matlab, Fluidsim, Tekla, Autocad, Revitt etc, this continues with our
phase 2 £15m now underway development of James Cond printworks to create The
Centre for Sustainable Construction opening in summer 2023.
We expect that the ideal candidate for this role has a
comprehensive CPD record and furthermore they will be expected to spend time
back in industry to ensure currency and innovation is ongoing.
